First-time electrical engineer needs help!

Hey all,
I will soon be receiving and L500XL, an L90, and a Q-filter to install in my Ibanez AXS32 (a discontinued model w/ H-H, 3-way switch, 2 tone, 2 vol). I want to set up the q-filter on the L500XL (bridge), wire both humbuckers for series/parallel switching, and add a switch for this.

I have no experience in electronics though... will I be biting off more than I can chew with my above-mentioned plans? If so, I guess I'll bring it in to a shop... But if...

wiring L-500L and L-500R with 5-way rotary and 2 volumes + tone

L-500 old and new

I have an L500-L somewhere from the early eighties, 1982-83 I guess. It is creme with chrome-plated housing. It is one of the best pickups I ever heared. Now I'd like to have anotherone with similar qualities.
Two years ago I purchased an L500 R and an L500 XL directly from Bill 'n Becky.
But I don't like the tones as I like my old L500 L.
The XL sounds much harsher and undifferentiated. Somehow mid-scooped. It's tonal articulation is far away...

I actually own one already, and it seems to me like it is close but maybe a little smaller. I installed it on a 3/4 size tele style, so I modified the pickguard it came with; however, I want to buy another one for a full size Tele, and I need to know if it will fit a pickguard that is precut for a Gibson mini, or should I buy an Esquire pg and cut the hole myself? Cutting the hole is tricky to get the poles to line up exactly under the strings, so I'd rather let someone else do it,...

Hey all! I am placing an order for some pickups soon and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with or information about how an L500XL on the bridge will balance tonally with an L90 on the neck. Will it just drown out the L90? is there a specific henry rating for the L90 that will balance best? Thanks for any and all info!

Tele with B-Bender

There wire some conerns expressed about whether it is currently possible to order from Bill and Becky.

Using the Paypal "Buy now" tab on the main BL web page, I ordered 4 pickups on November 27th (three L-45s and an L-298TL if anyone's keeping track) and they arrived two days ago on the 15th December. Thats 19 days. Not bad for this time of year!
