Hi everybody,

This is a comparison of the Bill Lawrence L-200 and L-45 pickups. It's both the same guitar, same amp, same cable, same strings - samesamesame. Just different pickups. I even took care of same distance to the strings. The guitar is a 2001 Fender Jeff Beck Signature Strat (the newer one). The amp is a SF Princeton Reverb equipped with a Weber 10F150-T speaker. Cable is a Bill Lawrence one. Recorded with an SM57 mic into an M-Audio interface with ProTools M-Powered....

L298TL & L610FN 2.4 Demo w/ Q-Filter

I finally got around to recording some clips of my Tele with L298TL & L610FN 2.4 with Q-Filter wired in inductance mode. There are four clips on my music page, playing roughly the same little jam. These were recorded in GarageBand with my Pod 2.0 set to Blackface with a little delay. Tracks 1-2 are neck pickup and tracks 3-4 are bridge pickup. The only other difference in settings between clips is the Q-Filter.

L-100 S, Late seventies, on Yamaha SG1000

OK Folks. I bought two L-100S, somewhere around 1978. Installed one of them in a Yamaha SG1000, neck position. Anyway, this is what the L100-S sounds like. The first part is dual coil/humbucking , after approx 50 secs. split coil.

The recording: direct in on an iMac (Mic in> Garageband>no effects), so what you hear is basically the bare bones sound.

L-90, L-298, L200 videos

Hey,

1st video is of the L-90 on high gain, just bashing out some metallica riffs. 2nd video is of all 3 pickups, in 3 channels - Clean, Crunch and Dirty. Apologies for the sloppy playing, I've done this quite late at night, but it's just so you can get an idea of how they sound. Hope these help.

Hi, I can't remember exactly what pups models I have but they not the super hot ones and the set was recommended by Becky. H/S/H I use a Godin Lacewood and ran most of these tracks through a V-Amp Pro (I installed a first-stage Cathode Follower tube buffer) direct, digitally into ProTools or Sonar. L500L in a Schecter 7 String!

Well - I took the plunge and bought one of the limited run 7 String L500Ls. While the pickup housing itself is smaller than the routing in the guitar I was able to mount it in my lefty Schecter 7 String without too many problems. Boy these BL pickups are thick! I'm going to have to route out the pickup cavity some more to get it to sit farther from the strings... for now I'm just dialing the volume knob back a tab...

The below link features our very own Vito playing clean and overdriven licks for comparison between the two different 2.4H neck pickups installed in his '93 Les Paul Classic. These versions of the L-450 (now the L-600) and the L-490 (now the L-609) are two of Bill's more single-coil-like humbuckers, but they still have significant differences.

Recorded with a Rockman XPR preamp using the built-in analog chorus and a Rockman EQ in the loop otherwise no outboard FX.

500L neck 500XL bridge. Several different preamp settings and pickup combinations in this clip. I just kind of noodled so it is what it is.
