Will it harm the circuit of my Zoom in the long run, if I increase gain and level of the MXR distortion through the Zoom pedal, instead of the usual

what effects and tones do they produce,

I have no experience with the pedals mentioned,

2) Can a Pitch shifter do everything an octave pedal can do, plus a little bit more.
