        <![CDATA[ I just recieved a new trem from Hiphsot for my YJM Strat (it&#39;s an old &#39;97 model that was still using a Fender American Standard trem).


I emailed Hipshot before I ordered the trem and they said it was a direct retrofit for American Standard trems. I could even use the old threaded inserts (or
so I understood).

Well, the old Fender inserts wouldn&#39;t fit the pivoting posts of the Hipshot trem, so I pulled out the old inserts and put the Hipshot ones in.

Alright, this is over.
<br>
Got the new block on Friday, installed it and everything&#39;s perfect now. Very smooth working trem.
<br>
Although my primary goal for the change was sound rather than function.
<br>
Well it sounds great, just like their hardtail bridges. Great improvement over the old American Standard bridge and the cheaper Wilkinson &amp; Guitarfetish
bridges that I tried in the past.
