A couple of days ago I was reading an interesting article in a guitar magazine. To sum it up, the author concluded that the headstock of a guitar acts like a
little guitar-speaker as it reflects the sound of the strings. Therefore large headstock will make a guitar sound thicker and bigger as there's more wood
to vibrate. And supposedly this "bigger sound" is also passed along to the amp.
That's actually the second time I read something like that. I had read about Yngwie Malmsteen saying how he preferred Strats with big late-60's style headstock over his earlier used ones with 50's style headstock, as the big headstock adds significantly to their sound and makes them (once again) bigger.
Tis true?
