My current jazzmaster is definitely really bright, and sounds fantastic (especially clean), but I want this new version to have it's own personality. Darker, but not nearly as dark as a Les Paul (I have one - tooooooo dark). More mids, and a slightly bigger low end, with the highs toned down a bit.
So what I'm really trying to figure out is what if I went with the Alder Body, and a Mahogony/rosewood neck as opposed to a Mahogony body on Maple/rosewood neck?
Spliting hairs right?? Or does either the body or neck wood play a larger part in the tone??
thanks
