Comparative pickup discussions are not permitted on the F.I.B., as:

- comparative pickup threads, more than any other, regularly end up in arguments and cause bad feeling;

- people deliberately persist with posting misinformation, and use such threads as a vehicle for their propaganda.

We have a pre-emptive restrictive policy in place, upon which we have regularly extended latitude, but unfortunately less and less latitude is extended each time such is abused.


Bill Lawrence Wilde-Gate

The BL Wilde-Gate is, not surprisingly, exclusively for discussion of genuine BL products. It was deliberately set up as a safe haven for Bill and Becky, and their customers.

Bill and Becky don't compare their pickups with others, and that's the primary foundation of the non-comparative policy in the Wilde-Gate.

Secondarily, but just as important are the facts that:

- there is a history of animosity and duplicity towards Bill from several other pickup makers;

- there is a history of animosity from other pickup brand supporters towards Bill Lawrence supporters (eg. I have received public threats of physical violence and private death threats!);

- people whom are genuinely or conveniently ignorant of all the "history" often tread where we've been far too many times before in such discussions;

- people whom are intent on rewriting history can readily tread where we've been far too many times before in such discussions.


There are plenty of opportunities to discuss competitive products in other F.I.B. forums. The lack of such threads is not down to any restrictions imposed by the F.I.B..


History

This is a very openly run forum, but unfortunately such is regularly abused. Please check the Archives, the Sounding-Board, and the Info-Base before treading the unfortunately well-trodden path.
