F.I.B. MODERATORS: editorjuno, javacody, LouisWu, nocaster, still4given, USACustomGuitars Webmaster (USA Custom-Gate only), WireNWood
Please become familiar with the Posting Guidelines in FAQ-Board, and until you feel comfortable, refer any threads, which have gone bad after useful discussion, to me.
Also note that there is a thread, in the Sounding-Board, for members to notify moderators about threads, which they feel are in need of moderation. So, you may want to check that periodically. Please delete (Del) any referral posts made there, which you are going to deal with, otherwise leave them for me to come across myself.
MISPLACED THREADS:
Any threads that have clearly been posted in the wrong forum, Move (see Commands below) the thread to the appropriate forum. Please refer to me if youre unsure.
PROBLEM THREADS:
Any thread you're unsure about:
Simply Close (see Commands below) the thread and refer to me.
Any thread that has had multiple participants, and IYO is NOT worth saving (i.e., it's NOT got any new info thats potentially useful for the FIB repository):
1) Copy the thread title (topic/subject).
2) Start a New Topic and paste the copied title of the thread to be deleted as the Subject, and post your reasoning.
3) Close this new thread to prohibit replies/comments.
4) After such notification threads have been up a few days (long enough for most to see your reason), Delete them.
5) Add Reply to the thread to be deleted, stating the forum name that the thread is currently in, along with your reasoning.
6) Move (see Commands below) the thread to be deleted to the DOB-Board.
Any thread that IYO IS worth saving:
If it's really out of hand, or difficult to preserve a logical progression, Close (see Commands below) the thread and refer to me.
Otherwise:
1) Copy the thread title (topic/subject).
2) Start a New Topic in the DOB-Board and paste the copied title of the thread to be edited as the Subject, and post the forum name that the original thread is in, along with your reasoning.
3) Copy and paste offending post(s) (each with: user name, date/time, and IP address) from the thread being edited, to the new thread in the DOB-Board.
4) Del (delete) the offending post(s) in the thread being edited.
Spam (also see Problem Users) or totally unacceptable threads:
1) Add Reply stating the forum name that the thread is currently in.
2) Move (see Commands below) the thread to the DOB-Board.
PROBLEM USERS:
Refer to me with your recommendation. If they are an obvious spammer, and/or someone who constantly posts with obscenities or "virtual" obscenities, you should have no hesitation in recommending their "deletion". Other options include "temporary suspension", or "issue a private warning".
COMMANDS:
On each forum page:
To the left of each thread title, moderators see a little selection box to facilitate applying a single "action" command to multiple (single too) threads at once.
The commands for such are in the dropdown menu, shown underneath the last topic heading listed on the page.
Please DO NOT Stick or especially Unstick any threads.
And note that you cannot Edit a Closed thread, so unfortunately editing is "live".
Within a thread:
Apart from Del All, next to the first post in any thread, there is also Del besides every other post.
And at the bottom of the page you will also see Topic Commands.
