I finally got my pair of J-45's, after a 3 month wait. Thank you Becky!
Put them in today and my first impressions were that they produced a great balanced tone from each string. The neck pickup produced a deep low end that I've never heard before. The output is also very hot for a passive pickup.
The bridge pickup has that nasal tone the j-bass is famous for.
My question : why does the bridge pickup have a lower output than the neck pickup, or is it just a thinner sound? Is this common? I've raised the pickup height as high as I can on the bridge, but yet it still could not compete with the output of the neck pickup. Do you think I have a bad tone pot for the bridge pickup?
Thanks for any answers.
