I bought one of these Chimemasters from Glen Dale Clark, the version with the 1/4 inch 3 brass saddles and brass block, installed it on an "Upgrade"
Highway One strat with 6 hardened screws from Bill Callaham and 4 trem springs, and got the surprise of my life. Even with these overwound Alnico 3s on here,
this Strat went right to #1 among my Fender Strats.
Trying to find some words besides big and acoustic to use. This is not instant Tele; it still sounds springy but it doesn't sound weak anymore. Heck, the bridge alone doesn't sound bad.
Dale has it on sale through May 8; comes in steel barrel/steel block or brass barrel/brass block, $ 149, had been $ 249. Includes all the springs, claw, the really nice custom stainless bridge plate, what I think is a Fender trem arm, and it is beautiful. Clearly, tapping into the brass block is not intended for a whammy fest; I did not try to wreck it, but I suspect you could.
No affiliation, just enjoy doing repeat business with a serious musician and an inventive mind who knows how to make things precisely.
