Asymmetrical backcontour - opinions?

Posts: 12 Fri, May 30, 2008 10:39:14	Tags : None Hi I'm thinking about getting an asymmetrical neck contour for my new guitar. I imagine it might fit my playing style nicely since I have my thumb wrapped around the neck most of the time. So far I haven't found any guitar with an asymmetrical contour in any shop, so I couldn't actually try one. Any opinions on that contour? Does anybody here play one? Posts: 30 Thu, Jun 26, 2008 03:08:07	Of all the features and variants in guitar building that I know of, the variation that depends the most highly on personal taste and 'accidental exposure or experience' is the use or non use of asymmetrical neck sections. I agree, they're not that many chances for us to build an experience base to decide if we like or could use this feature. I'm gonna try to stay mainstream on this choice for as long as my hand will let me. Then, if arthritis or some other factor forces a change, or if some wonderful new technology allows us to test drive a bunch of different shapes, I'll cross that bridge at that point in time. And I'll cross my fingers that the chunky Fatback and Boatneck shapes are not harming me any in the mean time. Bubban0v
