I answered the question for the neck/middle comparisons in the other thread.

It just happened that I swapped the L-280SN/L-280SM/L-290SL pickguard in my MIJ Charvel for a L-200S set. I played the guitar both at home and at a gig the same day. Here are my impressions:

Clean tones: L-200 neck has more high mids than L-280 neck, which makes single notes sound warmer and fuller to my ear. Just what I wanted. The L-280 sounds clearer for chording with a very smooth hifi-like top end.
I was a bit worried that the L-200 at the bridge would be too bright for me but that was laid to rest quickly. It sounds just fine, bright yet sweet enough. The #4 position quacks nicely.

Overdriven tones: the L-200 bridge is definitely brighter than the L-290. In the band context the sound was the same - still my tone. The L-200SN shines here, too. I really cannot say a lot about the L-200SM because I never use the middle pickup alone.

Wiring is normal 5 way switch, master volume w/o bypass cap/resistor, master tone w/ 0.022uF tone cap, blend pot (this provides bridge and neck together and all 3 pickups together).
