I'm really surprised about your experience, sounds to me like Hipshot is a small garage shop (perhaps even a one man show). Your report definitely doesn't inspire confidence in the company. I've had a few very positive interactions with Hipshot. Every business makes mistakes, so I think part of the measure of confidence in a company is how they handle their issues. I once got a neck with the wrong spec from USACG. I once received a broken pickup from Bill Lawrence. Both companies made it right and I still recommend them highly and will continue to give them my business indefinitely. --Garrett--

Indefinitely is a strong word, my personal experience is that things can change over time. Good companies can go bad, and vice versa, or there's a new kid on the block who deserves business for whatever reason. To be honest, this thread was the first occasion where I heard about problems with Hipshot products and customer care. That's why I was so surprised to hear that. I think they still have a good reputation and I'm confident they'll set things straight very soon. You can say you to me.

I mean I wouldn't say that I won't buy anything else from them because of the issues I've had. Sounds like business as usual now days down here in New Orleans. I am very grateful when I can call a plumber and someone actually shows up. Posts: 394 Fri, Jun 19, 2009 11:19:44 Silver Member	Well, I'm still on this thing! Can you believe it? I'm surprised myself at how patient I am with this whole issue. Long story short, the block from my last post never showed up. I contacted them about it, and their tech told me that if I didn't get it by June 1st to contact them again and he would sent out a new one. (somehow I have the impression that it never was shipped!!) Well, June 1st came, no block, emailed the tech, got a thousand sorrys and he said he was shipping out a new block. 3 Weeks later, I get an email again, stating that they're sorry, they hadn't shipped anything yet, because they only now had a new batch of blocks ready, and they were shipping one out by the end of the week to me, along with a free set of tuners of my choice (as a reimbursement) and 2 sets of different buttons. That was beginning of this week. Today I had another email, with a tracking number and confirmed shipping of the new block and tuners. Yay! (with slight reservation) I'm happy about the tuners, but pretty bumped out about the whole block issue. But anyways, at this point I just want the new block to work correctly so I can have a working guitar again. I'm just glad I have more than one guitar, otherwise I would have gone mad! Since Toyota has lost more money than GM, one may have to evaluate how strict we will decide to be with the vendors we choose. That is, everybody is getting hammered right now, not just Mr. Lazy and Uncle Sloppy. But also, I'm not saying, any kind of conduct at all is acceptable. Got the new block on Friday, installed it and everything's perfect now. Very smooth working trem. Although my primary goal for the change was sound rather than function. Well it sounds great, just like their hardtail bridges. Great improvement over the old American Standard bridge and the cheaper Wilkinson & Guitarfetish bridges that I tried in the past. Tuners look nice aswell. They also didn't skimp on the extras. Got 2 additional sets of different replacement buttons for those tuners. Very cool. www.myspace.com/schneidas
