Yes. But when they do show up, and they will, it's a very nice surprise.

While the communication is not instant, the shipping appears to be. Got the pickup yesterday. Good Job Bill and Becky.
I am in the process of installing it and I noticed that I was shipped wiring instructions for a 4 conducter pickup, where as this one is a 3-conductor. Does the blue wire go to ground also? Thanks guys |

OK, just finished the installation (Neck position) and have played a little....I will have to say that it is a keeper. Just good high-fi strat tones. Lots of
sparkle and snap.
The output is not quite up to the Fast Track one I had in there, but the tone is better. The string to string balance is pretty good, but I am still tweeking the height adjustment. Still a bit less output than the bridge bucker, but I am not searching any more. BTW what pots values should I be using for the best results? Now, I just need to buy another pup for the middle.... Thanks guys. |

What pot values work best with the L-45? 250K or 500K?

I too would like to know what pot values would be recommended for L-45's in a Strat application? Also, would a Q-filter be a nice compliment or not as
effective with L-45's as with other models?
Thanks! |

I think the q-filter works better with higher output pickups.
I used 250k's... I think it would be a little teflon coated ice pick if you used a 500k. |

'ello 'bob!
to be honest: i don't know yet. the guitar has a nice midrange overthrow and the pickups sound a bit leaner than a strat i have with L-495 / L-290 (among the last middle and neck models) which is a delicate but meaty tone. nevertheless, it seems to be a pretty balanced tone which can sit in many places. whether an amp looks good on a certain guitar is quite another story. el ninety |

Hey El Ninety, sweet! (1) What model pickups are these (single-style ones)? (2) Where did you get the pickguard (interested in the material pattern)? (3)
Thanks for remembering!

kai54 wrote:hello kai54, these are our beloved L-45s of course! L-90 at the bridge. the L-45s are somewhat more 'itchy' than my 280s, a very nice, narrow dip in the upper midrange, yet a VERY clear tone. i bought the pickguard at a dutch ebay shop (bnm) which has closed in the meantime. sorry, i don't know anything else. with the kindest regards el ninety |

Bryan, have you checked out this clip of Bill demonstrating the L-45s?
The L-45 is smoother, sparklier and clearer than the L-280. It also provides easy to set up, beautiful inbetween tones, which many feel is a difficult balancing act with the 280. The L-45 beats the L-280 at its own game |

To hands,
I check that a long time ago Just looking for another L-45 clip, To El Ninety and to anyone. in your own ears How does the L-45 compare to The L200S in all positions, neck, mid, bridge ? Is the L-45 more stratty, more articulation and more definition, more quack than the L200 ? any other opinions To vito, thanks for the clip thanks for the replies.

Regarding vito clips
L-45 vs l-200s for me the L-45 in my ears sounded better different pickups shine and sound better with different EQ setting sweet spots, but with that setting, the L-45 for me sounded better and louder any opinions.

Hi Bryan,
it's not my opinion. Not that I don't like the L-45. Doubtless it's a great pickup. But for this guitar and with this setup I prefer the L-200. I think I'm going to put back in the L-200. They're "stratier" in my opinion. But maybe I should get an L-298 for bridge pos. - I didn't test it up to now, but from all I read, I think I will like it :-) All the best, Vito. |
