Are multi effects units circuitry safe when used with other pedals ?

guitar ---> dunlop crybaby wah ---> mxr distortion ---> Zoom G2.1u -----> mxr chorus ---> Amp
Will it harm the circuit of my Zoom in the long run, if I increase gain and level of the MXR distortion through the Zoom pedal, instead of the usual
Guitar ---> Zoom g2.1u ---> Amp
