I was also wondering if one could combine a L500 with a L90 and in case it is feasible which would be recomended at the bridge and which at the neck?
Thanks in adavance for your answers

Hello all, i' new to the forum and in the proces of purchasing two sheilded L500's however i see nowhere in the site if there are neck versions and
bridge versions.
I was also wondering if one could combine a L500 with a L90 and in case it is feasible which would be recomended at the bridge and which at the neck? Thanks in adavance for your answers |

What's your setup? What styles of music do you play and what are you looking for in terms of sound?

It's a guitar i made myself: gibson sort of style in terms of hw.
Mahogany body and neck, adler top and rosewood fingerboard. I play rock blues but i'm looking to experiment and get a more aggressive sound without loosing the capability of some clean sounds too. I have a strat, a tele a 335 and a les paul, all vintage, so i'm not looking to replicate those sounds. The guitar has two pots and a three way switch. Now one is volume, the other tone. I can change those too if necessary. (250k) |

Welcome mke52!
Based on your comments, I'd say a pair of L-500X L (bridge) /R (neck) or L-90 8H (bridge) /4H (neck) pickups should fit well. Since both coils are identical, BL humbuckers are not made as specified "bridge" or "neck" models. There are no "screw" or "slug" coils. All pickups can be used in any combination in any position (neck/(middle)/bridge), but usually lower capacitance models are used in neck (and middle when applicable) position.

Thanks for the clarification fuzzy, do you think the idea of combining an L500 with an L90 is a silly idea?

No. But I think an "equal" pair will look way better. And good looks count I tend to use my L-90 armed guitar more and more, so that's definitely my personal favourite, but given you comments about your other guitars, I'd pick the L-500 pair |

"And good looks count"
Remember, Fuzzy "A good sounding electric guitar can only be enjoyed when plugged in and played. A good looking guitar can be enjoyed regardless." How about an L-90 Bridge with an L-609 in the neck? |
