Posts: 71 Mon, Feb 23, 2009 22:09:19	..thanks Boris.. I'm returning the Callaham trees.. and I've already picked up some of the Fender brand "Original Stratocaster" trees from a local shop. They look like they'll work great. Good to know about the lefty tuners.. I'm confindent that Callaham offers lefty tuners.. I think the reverse headstock is going to add some cool "custom" vibe.. this project is so fun... ..I suspect that I'll just start another project when this one's complete.. I guess I'm hooked.

Posts: 72 Wed, Jun 3, 2009 15:26:40	I have a few milestones behind me now.. the body is finished [clear Tru-Oil (5 coats)], the neck is finished [clear Wipe-On Poly (2 coats)], and I have joined them with my Callaham neck plate.. woohooo!.. .. most of the hardware (all Callaham) is ordered and received. I will install all of the 'necessary for set-up' parts this week.. other parts like the pickguard and control plate will be obtained after set-up. I plan to have my guitar tech do a proper set-up next week... ..fun, fun, fun... USACG and Callaham make 'top-shelf' parts.. everything I've received has exceeded my expectations. Thanks for all of the support that I've received on this board. I'll try to post pics in the "Finished Projects" thread during the next few weeks... -Corey

Posts: 168 Thu, Jun 4, 2009 21:50:32	I remember wanting to say I've bought a ton of those Callaham trees, on conventional Teles and Esquires they look great. They do not quite match the Gotoh split shaft tuners when new, but they become more similar over time. Thinking about spraying toner on these trees, to give them a more nickel look. Most of the things I guess will come back to me later. I'm drawing a blank, they'll come later.

It's only missing the pickguard, control plate [the bridge pickup is wired directly to the jack], and strap-buttons. ..anticipation is high!.. ..I'm already considering different options for a 2010 project!.. -Corey

I forgot to say, when fitting the Callaham tree, loosen the two strings slighty so the button will lay over and hold the string in place; slide in into position just below the G tuner, and use an awl to mark the center point to drill the 1/16ths inch hole just under 3/8ths inches deep. Good success with this method.

Posts: 78 Mon, Jun 29, 2009 11:51:25	..woohoo!.. I got my guitar back from the tech a day earlier than expected.. plugged her in.. sounds awesome!!!!! This guitar is everything that I hoped it would be.. ..warm and clear.. ringing chords... My tech said that the intonation was "dead on", at every position on the neck. I'm 'sold' on USA Custom and Callaham parts!
