Bendy neck on a newer Epiphone LP jr (topic) I really love the sound of this LP jr. The single pickup and drive is very nice. I have changed out the tuners and put a new adjustable bridge and adjusted for intonation. It will stay in tune now. My question is has anyone replaced a bolt on neck on ... |

Re: I found the ultimate 2-post trem! (reply) Yeah, I first read about those on the Suhr page, then did a little more indepth info search. Did I mention that there's even two small grooves in the baseplate on both outer saddles (high E and low E saddle) that prevents them (and thus all the other ... |

Re: I found the ultimate 2-post trem! (reply) That is the preferred bridge for Suhr Guitars, so you're in good company. I'll have to keep that one in mind if I ever have an excuse for another trem! |

Re: I found the ultimate 2-post trem! (reply) Actually it's inbetween modern and vintage spacing. Less than the Callaham, but wider than the Hipshot... perfect. I really don't think it gets any better than this. |

Re: I found the ultimate 2-post trem! (reply) Sounds cool. Modern, not vintage string array, I presume? |

I found the ultimate 2-post trem! (topic) Ok, obviously for a vintage-style 6-hole trem nothing beats the Callaham (if you like vintage specs). But for a 2-post system, after a long search, I have found the perfect trem: the Gotoh 510TS. It has a big, unpainted(!) milled steel block and comes ... |

Re: Tele Vee Neck.... Need info so I can order. (reply) Yes, here's a good representation of the hard-v-profile: Be like really sure hard v is what you want. Especially with a thick neck... Looks mighty uncomfortable to me... but then again, I hate V-shape'd necks with a passion. |

Re: Tele Vee Neck.... Need info so I can order. (reply) Before ordering, be very sure a hard V is what you want. I had a medium V neck from USACG and it was much more pronounced than any current Fender V shape. It was pretty thick though (0.88), which increases the effect. With that in mind, I would stick to ... |

Tele Vee Neck.... Need info so I can order. (topic) New here. Need ideas on a Tele Neck. I have a J.R.V. Strat, has soft V Neck. I think I want a 1 piece Maple Neck, hard V, that goes all the way up, for my TeleBastered. Ideas on Hard V and the right thickness? Is quarter Saw-en really a big thing? What is ... |

Re: Newbie - Possible G&L project. Needs help! (reply) Novel question. I've touted gearing up to make G + L necks to Tommy in the past. He's not spent much time around G + Ls, I understand, and was not sure it would be profitable. As the economy has gone bad, I'm certain he was right. Always, always been ... |

Re: Need Help With neck (reply) well you see i read that the chambered mahogany would be a warm tone. i definitely want ebony for the increased sustain. can i ask for quarter swan mahogany from usacg? also i think im going to go with the 6150, is there going to be an overwhelming amount ... |

Newbie - Possible G&L project. Needs help! (topic) Hi folks, I've been given (yes, Christmas comes early!) parts from an early G&L ASAT Special. (a) Neck - standard G&L type. (b) Pickups - M.F.D.(the rectangular P-90 shaped ones) (c) Bridge - G&L Saddle Lock type (top-loading type) ... |

Re: Talk to me about hollow Strat bodies... (reply) Mine is alder with ash top. I'd guess mine started a little heavy. The whole guitar weighs about 7 lbs, which isn't bad but not exactly light. Sustain is great. The whole guitar seems to vibrate in synch with the band. I was actually surprised at the ... |

Talk to me about hollow Strat bodies... (topic) I'm about to order a new Strat body plus neck from Tommy and was thinking about a hollow Strat project. The reason for this is that I played a couple of the newer Les Pauls which are hollowed out and I really liked what I heard. Right now if I were in ... |

Re: Need Help With neck (reply) 6105 is the Fender style, high and narrow. 6150 is the PRS style, high and wide. It just depends on what you prefer. If you're set on an ebony board, I'd be likely to go with a mahogany neck as ebony is very bright. Otherwise, I'd do a maple neck with ... |

Need Help With neck (topic) I have long been planning on building a guitar from my own specs. I ordered a chambered mahogany body(with a quilt maple top) from warmoth and plan to order my neck from USACG because everyone on the net says they do a better job with fretting and such ... |

Fender 1965 Custom Shop NOS neck contour (topic) I tried this guitar out in guitar center and the neck felt really nice but USACG doesn't know the specs of the neck. Does anyone know the exact specs? Fender says it's a "c" neck but it feels more like a soft "v" neck to me. Also, the pickups sounded ... |

Re: Any tips for masking string ferrule holes when finishing? (reply) Thanks, Boris. That's a good idea, and I probably have two or three varieties of spakle-type products in my garage I can test out. |
