I have medium Dunlop frets on my USACG Nashville Tele, and I am glad I do as they provide for relatively easy string bends (they are higher than any other fret I have used). This makes life in a band a lot more pleasant particularly when you play a lot of string bending type songs. However; I actually enjoy more the "feel" of a lower fret. It seems less to me like a metal on metal transaction as my finger tips have much more contact with the fretboard. I can't swear by it, but the sound seems different to me too. The lower frets produce a woodier, more organic tone as opposed to the more metallic sound provided by higher frets. I would very much like to play a USACG, 7.25-9.5 radius neck with vintage frets, or a more gentle radius, because I wonder how much it would reduce the string bending issues associated with the vintage frets.

Thanks,
