A thinline mahogany Tele will of course be warmer on two counts (wood and construction) than a solid-body Tele with ash or alder body.

Fender's reissue 69 thinline, which is offered with a mahogany body, features 1 meg pots, which make the regular vintage-style pups sound horribly bright.

Bill once said: The L-450's/L-600's "make a [T]hinline sound like a real single coil Tele, but much richer."

I therefore recommend either the L-600 / L450 (FN16) or the L-280TN for the neck of all Teles.

One esteemed customer once said, after trying loads of Tele neck pickups, that the L-280TN was the best Tele neck pickup ever made.

For a thinline mahogany Tele, one might want to consider using 500K pots, but I think that's probably the main point of consideration.
