I'm confused now. I actually did mean "in series" with the switch such that the resistor/switch pair is parallel to the other devices. I was assuming that the switch in a two-pot layout would come after the tone pot on the return to ground. I am replacing the load from one of those pots with a resistor. Are you saying that I should place the load directly between the hot and ground leads of the pickups? If that is the case, then I don't understand the point of the 10 M resistor within the switch because the switching capacitors will already be in parallel with the lower-value resistors, which in that case act as a current shunt.

Please forgive my ignorance. I just want to be certain that I understand you.
