I found this to be quite interesting.
Theres a debate where the women in rock n roll have gone.

"...So where in the hell are the women?
You know where: pop radio. Corporate radio program directors have dumped women from rock playlists..."

Isnt pretty much everything "pop radio" these days? I turn on the radio and hear Britney Spears one moment, The Donnas the next and right after that, Metallica.

Furthermore, and maybe its just me, but arent most female groups these days "manufactured" and "pre-packaged"? And who does that cater to? What do they want to achieve?
A quick buck!
So they end up making up yet another pop, sweetheart churning out the same old pop songs which seem to sell oh so well these days.
I think there are good girl bands out there but theyre in the same boat as the rest of the bunch making good (in my opinion) music. No one wants to sign such acts because it wont bring in the fast bucks.

One last thing. Historically speaking, havent women always been under-represented in rock music? Havent there always been a majority of guys playing rock?
