These are only USB 1.1, and from what I've read, it seems a USB 2.0 bus is really required for direct recording. Of course you need a USB 2.0 port on your computer, but you can get cheap USB 2.0 PCI cards.

However, FWICS, unless you have a pretty recent PC with all the latest advances in bussing, it seems that Firewire is probably the way to go, so you bypass the weaknesses of your PC as much a possible.

Personally, Im still torn between going USB 2.0, Firewire, or using separate recording hardware, and only using software for mixing and mastering.
