Howdy - I just went through the same selection process myself, posting here and on 2 other forums. The vintage types prefer a compensated 3 barrel bridge - Callaham Vintage Guitars makes a great one.

I wanted 6 saddles for better intonation and easier string height adjustment. Also wanted to avoid the lip around the edge of the bridge that looks like it wants to bite your picking hand. The Gotoh was the best one that I could find. Supposedly a thinner plate will give you more twang. It does make sense that less mass in the bridge would give you a thinner tone. Also, there's probably more chance of microphonics between the bridge & the body with a thinner, stamped metal bridge than with a thick, heavy bridge like the Gotoh.

I haven't even finished the body on my project yet, so this advice may be worth about what you pay for it.
