The early ones with Fender logo and Squier Series on the ball are slightly more desirable (IMO), but that's not been market tested, and they're otherwise the same. And the JV Strats with basswood bodies are less desirable than those with alder or ash. Some SQ spec axes had JV serial numbers, but the Strats had big "70s" headstocks and were not available in SB. JV Fenders and Squiers were the same except for the decal.
