I like my 335's and their laminated construction.

I just bought a high-tech multi-laminated bass, and (to me) it really hits home that there's successful high-tech laminates, which shouldn't be confused with plywood.

I've got nothing against top-load Teles, and I don't subscribe to the notion that they're somehow tonally inferior, but, that said, they wouldn't be my first choice, which is why I'm surprised that Fender have chosen to reissue the '59 Esquire.
