> "Laminate = plywood, technically speaking."

True, but also technically speaking, there are complex as well as simple processes.

Plywood is such a disparaging term that I limit its use to basic processes, which are focussed on using scrap and low-grade woods for strong construction materials, which are also used in low-end axes.

> If one uses quality woods to build the plies, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why a plywood body couldn't be resonant and toneful.

Companies like Gibson have a lot of experience in this regard.

Laminate technology as employed in the likes of the 335, not only contributes to the design, structural integrity, and manufacturing process, but also greater consistency in comparison to solid wood, in regard to tone and weight.

The likes of the Firebirds took this technology quite a bit further in all respects, and additionally with regard to otherwise unavailable tone shaping. Im now experiencing this with a few additional tweaks first hand on my new bassimpressive!
