Thanks RMosack. A while ago I did learn about what coil tapping ACTUALLY is, but I forgot apparently. I've never played a coil split guitar I much liked (the idea of lowering signal volume and increasing noise volume at the flick of the switch), but I am a great fan of series parallel switching.

Apparently you'd have to have pickups specially made for coil tapping. And it seems like it would be a difficult undertaking for the winder as well...I'd just grab a BL Q-filter and do it the easy way, electronically...

Coil tapping seems more inline with single coils though...having TWO tapped coils in one humbucker seems like a lot of confusion and overly complex wiring when you can just run it to a miniswitch and do either series, split, or parallel.

I'd love to hear a low inductance 450 in the neck of an Epi Dot. A reasonable price for a very rich tone I would think.
