In my main guitar, I've got an L-450 16A neck pickup and an L-490 XL bridge pickup. Played clean, the neck pickup is the loudest (with tones that still gives me goose humps, two years after installing it :D ) and with both pickups on I can get a very tele-like sound.
With overdrive, the 490 really comes alive as a superb rock'n roller.
Teoretically, this combo shouldn't work well because of the difference in inductance, but it does.
I've got the Q-filter connected to both pickups, and I use
0,02 mikro F cap in parallell with a 20k resistor, as described in Bills scheme. Works like a breeze, too.
There's no tone pot, but a tone switch (on-off-on) with 0,01 and 0,02 mikro F caps comes in handy now and then.
