Really, Swamp Ash?
I didn't even consider Swamp Ash given that it is my least favorite wood. I once had a Swamp Ash Strat with a Maple/Rosewood neck and somehow it never worked out too well for me so in the end I sold it.
I have tried various Swamp Ash Strats since then, all of them of course had regular scaled necks and Maple as the backing wood but I have yet to hear a Swamp Ash Strat that will make me want one.
So given this, could it possibly be what I'm looking for?
Just discussing here, I'm not ruling out anything. Would just love to hear your opinion.

Btw, Tommy's recommendation was a light piece of Swamp Ash aswell, but I also think he said that he never tried Swamp Ash with humbuckers...
Swamp Ash and humbuckers has not turned out well from my one experience but as I said, it was combined with a Maple/Rosewood neck.

Also, if we compare Mahogany (without a Maple cap) to Alder for this project, what do you mean that Mahogany would be livelier? Do you mean better playing dynamics?

Thanks again
