I'm going to be trying a flat wound set in the near future. Actually combining them with a Eric Johnson GHS set (*gasp, yes I know), as well as using the left-overs on a jazzier version of a Korean Aria strat body I got laying around.

As far as I know, Pyramid are the only people who make a wrap on a core of round cross-section. Everybody else uses hexagonal or whatever, since it naturally lets the wrap grip.

I never knew that.

Pyramid cost three or four times more; so if you want the early, early vintage style, you'll pay for it.
