I've been away for awhile but I'm pleased to see that not everyone is biased against maple as a tone wood. What I was going for was the sound of an L6-S not a Strat, I just happen to like the look and feel of a Strat body, that and it would be practically impossible to get an L6-S body.

Anyway, I actually did get my hands on a '74 L6-S off a collector and what a great axe! :smokin It's got to be in large part to BL's contribution to this design from Gibson. It can sound very stratty or put out Les Paul type tones.

Thing is though, this is 30 years old and immaculate so I'm affraid to play it and put wear on it. Oh well, I guess I'm back to my original question, anybody know where to get a S-type maple body? :rolleyes Just kidding.

Thanks to all you who genuinely tried to help, M.C.
