I do have a suction gun. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I'm going to redo all the joints and test continuity after each connection. No fooling around. I'm also going to test the ins and outs on each coil after de-soldering. I want the cleanest possible job. I'll report on my progress. EMI/RFI is of little concern in my experience. If shielded right, which isn't hard to do, you're cool. If you've got a giant mess of wires because of some complex coil switching, then there might be cause for concern, but from my experience, this has never been an issue. Keep thing tight and clean and you're all good.
