Guitar jacks are cherry. I just finished the entire surgery to two guitars - one simple; the other quite complex - more or less same results. My connections are perfect. Continuity across all connections and joints. Grounds are grounding; hots are, well... hotting. I've got three go-to cables all of which are peachy keen. The reputable guitar tech people I told you about also confirm that my connections are golden.

This is perplexing, indeed. Could it be the wiring in my loft? In case you're wondering, it's a conversion, so all wiring is new.

One thing I did notice is that my N4 is making some of the same noise, although lower in volume. The 540 RHH is virtually silent. Could be because they're much lower inductance PUPs than what I've got in the BL category. I don't know.

Unless any of your have an 'A-HA!' idea, looks like I'm going to need a passive DI unit in between my guitar and amp.

All theories are welcome at this point.
