Narco, some one on the line 6 forums has done something like this, but it was grounding the patch cable in this manner, not the chassis, I believe. I'm not sure, but I think the chassis was of no concern to this person, so it was likely okay the way it was. I looked at that, too.

Though I can put together all manner of solutions of my own, I'd rather be safe and get a solution that's certified, I that makes sense. Right now, I've found that the Ebtech hum eliminator and Radial JDI do the trick perfectly. Those solved my particular problem.

Also, it can't be overstated enough how much proper shielding of the control cavity helps. It really does lessen the severity of this kind of buzz. With a proper passive DI, it's even better. These two things have been essential to me.
