Yes, but as HPB said, 250k pots are actually better with the L500R. Although the aperture of an L500 creates slightly more per string harmonic roll off compared to an L2xx pickup, the L500R inductance is low enough that 250k pots will keep it from potentially sounding harsh in the bridge with the tone knob up.

You can wire ~500k resistors over the outside pot lugs, or from the pickup switch lugs to ground, or even wire a ~250k resistor over the entire circuit on the output jack. All those options will achieve the same result, but 250k pots would have a more linear sweep than 500k.
