I have a cheapo leather strap. Not real wide, not padded or anything. Tried friend's Les Paul, felt comfortable. He had a widewr, padded strap. Don't
know the brand. What do you think makes a good strap? Any examples of good ones?

In my opinion there are just a few criteria for a good strap :
1) holds in place (does not get loose around the strap holding pegs of the guitar) 2) does not have a rough edge to rub and bruise your neck 3) stays on your shoulder and doess not slip I have got a very simple plain black woven fabric D'Addario strap for over 10 years and am happy with that. Was thinking to replace it for the Fender blk/ylw/brown, but having found out it is made in china anyway i just felt okay may be later.... Have to say that wide leather straps or padded straps do not rock my boat, I am a simple guy. |
