I've got an SG Classic with a set of stock P-90's and it's a great guitar other than the insane amount of hum that I experience in my house. I
know that a lot of people will say that it is just part of the organic nature of having P-90's and that you have to live with it, but I'd heard the
same about strats and teles and I've been very happy with Bill's solutions for them.
I swear that I read a thread somewhere in here that said that one of the 600 series would fit a P-90 route, but I can't find it. I had read so much on this the last few days that my memory could be sketchy.
I know that Fralin is making a hum cancelling P-90 set with a sidewinder type of design that Bill first used back in the late 70's (I think that is the right date). I'd love to get something made by Bill because I love his work and to be perfectly honest his prices are just awesome for the quality that he puts into his products. I've heard great stuff about Fralin pickups, but I just have a feeling that Bill's experience and ear is going to get me something better.
I suppose that I could go with a humbucker pickguard and a set of his humbucker sized P-90 noise cancelling pickups, but I'd prefer to keep it looking stock. I mean P-90's just look great in this guitar and I'd like to keep that vibe going (I hope that doesn't sound too shallow).
