Hi --
I've wired up three guitars with various BL pickups, which I love from top to bottom. However, I recently discovered that when plugging into certain amps or multi effects units, I get a hum that certainly sounds like a grounding issue. I noticed this with my BL equipped guitars only. On traditional amps - tube or analog solid state - there's none of this business. My ZT Lunchbox and/or POD HD500, however, expose a lot of this noise.
All of my guitars are properly shielded. All of my components have ground continuity - shield, too. My solder joints are nice and clean - no cold joints. There are no 'ground loops', although that's mostly a myth. Still, no such wiring exists in my guitars. Everything's clean.
I'm genuinely stumped. A slight hiss I can live with. The hum just isn't acceptable. If it was one of my BL guitars, then I'd have some clue. But, this is all three with this behaviour. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
--H
