Got an Agile ST-625 EB with the thick Stainless saddles – great guitar for the money. I'd think only a roasted Maple or composite neck would have as much high end sustain as an Ebony FB. I'm going to put my MC-F's in it and do a few modes. Full review here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LfdVArm6ewZqIV33T5plR_bU36CAqsi-G8W8uRf1Xm0/edit?usp=sharing
I'm thinking of using an MC-A (AlNiCo) set in my SX Hawk. Anyone know if a GFS Brass mounting bracket would give an MC-A more bass, or would I have to attach a Brass or Copper plate to the bottom of the coil...or would neither create the desired affect with an MC-A? If no one knows, would anyone with a set be willing to try a GFS Brass Mounting bracket – tape one on top to and do a before after recording to see how it affects the sound. Also, could I get the same result as a Brass plate with pennies taped to the bottom of the pickup or under the pick guard? Maybe someone could try that?
