Hi all,
I installed the 298TL and 280TN in my tele and am experiencing some ground issues in the form of a buzzing/humming sound which only goes away if I touch the metal parts of the guitar.
I'm also using a push/pull tone control in conjunction with a Q Filter.
I used the regular tele wiring on Phostenix site as my foundation.
For the Q Filter push/pull pot wiring I used this schematic - with the difference that the wire from the Q Filter that connects to the middle left lug is connected to the top left one (together with the cap and resistance) as recommended in this thread.
Since the control cavity was kind of crammed, and I didn't want to route it out, I used the empty space were I used to have a middle pup and put both the Q Filter and the cap there and then lengthened them by soldering wire to them.
I've checked the wiring many, many times to see if I've missed something, but it is hooked up correctly.
I've used the guitar with two different amps and cables, but the issue persists.
I'm using quality silver wire which I also have in my strat, no issues there.
I should add that I didn't ground the volume pot to the bridge plate (a Gotoh one made out of brass), but tried connecting the control plate to the bridge plate with a piece of metal, which didn't make any difference.
Thankful for any input on this.
