There are many cool ones but in my opinion the Strat headstock will always represent electric guitars everywhere to me

I certainly prefer inline headstocks.
I voted Tele, but I also like the Jazz/Jag headstock. And I really like the Starcaster headstock. |

I love the original Strat headstock. Looks like a wonderful spin off of a violin headstock or something ages old like that.
But the tele headstock just fits perfectly on a tele. (I don't know if anybody has ever seen it that way but I see tele as the simplified version of a strat... I mean like as if it was designed after the strat, streamlining, optimizing, to come up with a working pros electric. A Strat junior. Throwing all the useless stuff away (Who needs a third pickup? or a whammy bar? etc.). ) |

You know, I can't decide between the Tele and Strat headstock. I love both. The Tele headstock is just so...refined? Elegant? The Strat shows more attitude. And my '72 RI Strat's headstock is the bell-bottom jeans of the guitar world. Just love it.

Actually....my top three GUITAR head stocks are: FENDER Telecaster -- classic 6-on-side. OVATION -- refreshing new design, 3-on-side (sure looks better than new Gibson/Heritage). MOSRITE -- different approach to standard 3-on-side. GIBSON -- classic 3-on-side. |

The Seagull hs is the most attractive acoustic hs IMO. The Ovation hs is cool too.

-The most gracefull looking 3x3 headstock to me is the PRS. I don't know what it is, but that's the one I choose. As for the Les Paul's, I actually like the Epiphone version better than Gibson's. Look at them side by side on the L.P. Standards or even yhe Customs. The Gibson starts to look like a big wedge, while the Epi's looks more streamline and just nicer. But my favorite Fender headstock is the vintage Strat. Never cared for the CBS era style.

IMO the Gibson hs is more masculine than the Epi or the PRS.

The Strat and Tele headstocks are 'Space Age" (remember Sputnik-same era) headstocks. They also have hints of the big fin cars of the 50's.
The Gibson is the most elegant in its symmetry. Ovation was truly unique in an age where it didn't seem like anyone could invent a unique headstock. the only really new headstock to surface in years is the Parker Fly headstock-very minimalist, but unique and clean. I have an '82 Strat-a big headstock version that was trimmed to near vintage proportions. A 'Smith' Strat. Is there anyone else out there with one of these transition guitars? |

The Parker Samurai hs can be seen on earlier guitars, such as 80's Yamaha electrics.

For me, it's always been the "bighead" Stratocaster. I'm sure that's just a function of when I grew up. When I saw one of my heroes on TV I saw that big 'ol sexy set of curves. It's kinda like instead of a skinny supermodel kinda woman.... my baby's voluptious.
 Too many guitars?? HAHA! HAHAHA!!

I like the headstock on my Dean guitar.
A friend has an Agile LP copy and the headstock shape is nice. LORENA
