IMO nothing beats a tele/strat neck with 7,25" radius for rythm playing. For lead/single string playing I prefer 10-12" radius, still with a fenderlike neck profile.

My fave feel seems to be in the 10-12" range.
fuzzybeard: nothing beats a tele/strat neck with 7,25" radius for rythm playing Why? I've heard others say this as well. I've never considered the difference in terms of rhythm playing. Is it a barre-chord thing? Too many guitars?? HAHA! HAHAHA!!

It facilitates easier chording in general.

I can't say that I perosnally have noticed chording issues with flatter-boarded guitars. Prolly because I did the classical-guitar thing at one point.
*shrug* Too many guitars?? HAHA! HAHAHA!!

you talking about girls or guitars? Oh!
Then, another vote for 'vintage' Tele radius of 7.25-inch... |

Compound. 10-16", or something a tad less severe.

I prefer the old 7.25 | #8 | ||

I prefer the old 7.25. Some people say it's hard to solo on. But I just like it better. I find the flatter the fret board is the heavier the string's I need. I tend to be sloppy on a flatter radius board. Im not saying a 7.25 radius is the way to go for every one, but it work's for me.

A lot of this depends on the individual guitar; some guitar bodies simply won't accept a 7.25 neck with the existing bridge, you'd be at the limits of
adjustability as your starting point. Some guitar bodies won't get along with a 10-16 inch conical radius board neck, either, as the bridge and saddle
positions vis a vis the string approach from the 22nd fret is gonna be a mismatch. I like swapping the necks around and around body to body til the happiest
combinations are found. And I don't care if a 22 fret neck ends up matched to a vintage rout body, no big deal.
Once the guitar is set up and working, I just take from the guitar what it will give; I have 7.25 board guitars that are favorites of mine, and 10-16 conical board guitars that are also amongst my favorites. Bubbanov |

Changed all my guitars out to Warmoth 10-16" compund radious necks. They are also fat necks which I love the fill of. They also add sustain & body to
you tone.

...it depends, I tend to prefer:
CHORD work on my 7¼-inch radius Fender Tele neck MELODY work on my 12-inch radius Gibson ES-135 neck
