Re: Jazzmaster | #44 | ||

The ones on my website? They are from another company.. I didn't think it would be appropriate to post things like that here :).. I have 3 bound top Jazzmasters soon to have more pictures of those up on the site soon. The one in the picture has been modified since That picture.. It now has humbuckers and a buzz stop...
But the Bass VI is a swamp ash body bound top with 2 MIA Jag pickups and a SD jaguar pickup in the middle. The other parts came from a MIJ reissue Bass VI. The 4 switch 63 version had different pickups than the older 3 switch Bass VIs also the pickup locations are different (closer to the neck) than what the USA Custom bodies have. So there was a need for some routing to accommodate this, but only the 4 switch cavity and the pickups nothing else was modified. -Mike |

First Project | #45 | ||
|
Hi All,
I don't think I've posted here before, only lurked. Anyway, I'd like to share some pics of my first ever guitar "building" project. It's a T-style guitar. The body I got on a whim off eBay (but it was made by USACG), and the neck I ordered custom from Tommy. That eBay whim has started me a new hobby, BTW. :) Body is 3 piece swamp ash, quite light but I've never weighed it. Neck is plain one piece maple with dark MOP face dots. Tuners are locking Sperzels, nut is bone, pickups and electronics are from Torres Engineering -- the BluesTone wiring harness and Tele Blues pickups. The bridge and string tree are the only actual Fender parts. The bridge came from a parts bin in a local mom & pop shop, and is solid brass. Supposedly it's from the 80's. For the finish, I went with Tru-Oil. The body has 8 or 9 coats, and the neck & fretboard have 3 or 4. I finished the project about a month ago, and I think it sounds awesome. I've never played a Tele before (I told you it was a whim), so I don't know if it sounds like other Teles, but it really makes my UniValve come to life. Here are the least blurry pictures I have. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for all the compliments!
The sideways picture is closer to the real color. The finish is almost clear. |
