Posts: 1 Sun, Jul 26, 2009 14:50:25	Hi Guys and Girls Just finished this USACG Bass VI using the 62 style Bass VI body and neck. The neck is glorious to play, and the body is super comfortable...fitted out with SD Antiquity II Jag p/ups it sounds like a dream. Thank you Tommy & Co. I sprayed it Dakota Red nitro with just a splash of amber in the clearcoats, and dumped a bit more into the neck coate to give it a smoky look... While most folks seem to go for some vintage amber on natural finishes, yours has an etheric, ghostly beauty that's facinating. Posts: 4 Thu, Jul 30, 2009 16:00:07	^^^Stratified, on the body, for the moment, it is just bare wood. I'm still debating on what color / tint to do the body. I'd prefer some kind of transparent finish, the Alder may not be as remarkable grain-wise as say Ash or whatnot but I still like it and prefer transparent or oil finishes over straight up paint. As for the neck, that's 3-4 coats of StewMac's clear satin finish. Sanded down and holding up well. The blondness of the neck has grown on me a bit, at first I was a bit iffy on the naked look of it but I love it now! Especially with the albino dot inlays. orb............

Posts: 367 Fri, Jul 31, 2009 09:10:23 Silver Member	Orb, For an example of my favorite look in natural alder body see http://www.usacustomguitars.com/newgallery/index.htm then choose S Style Guitars; The Bronwyn guitar is the left handed one. It is a tad darker than natural, with a dark pic guard (this pic it's black, but I've seen tortoise shell that looked good also).
