How often do you visit the FIB | #1 | ||
|
I visit a couple of times each day most of the time. Lately I've been very busy at work so I haven't had as much time to "surf", but normally I'm pretty active.

RE Old Tele man's accidentally deleted post:
> "Since my d.i.y. FAT-Tele seems to offend some people" I'm surprised at this. I've always thought folks liked both your Teles. Have folks been disparaging here on the FIB? If so, I haven't seen such. > "plus the fact that nothing much is happening in the "Signal-chain" page" Yes, I appreciate that for you especially this is rather disappointing. I'm especially disappointed in the Signal-Chain too! However, this isn't aimed at any individual, but I can't do it all myself! Folks have to tell others about the FIB. If every FIBer got two new people to join (even one), this would be a vibrant place. I have monitored every single new registration here and almost without exception I got them to register by one means or another. My numerous attempts to get cross-links, PR, and register this site have been largely blocked! OH YES! So, if you like the FIB and want to discuss things here rather than elsewhere, it's up to you members to make it happen! It's supposed to be a community; nobody can do it alone. And the big benefit of the members bringing people on-board is that it heightens the chance of new members fitting in, and seeing things from similar perspectives, thus resulting in less friction. I'm really sorry you feel the way you do OTm! I know you've got a lot to offer here. And you know I've done my best to work with you. Heck, I don't know if it's possible to do more, other than setup a couple of forums for you to monitor, with you ending up basically talking to yourself. All I can tell you is, I'm burning myself out trying to get this place up to a self-sustainable level, and everything else is suffering. I'm being blocked at every which way, and let's not forget the virus attacks, the nasty emails, and now death threats. I'm committed!! But I need help!! What about the rest of you? Want to help me build an unrivalled community? Btw, don't forget that there are 1m+ ezboards and 8m+ members! I'm participating in, and trying to help sustain the following ezboards - Christian Musician Forum (even though I don't exactly fit into the description); The Crossroads (a general instrument forum); The Dudepit (bass forum); etc. There are also the likes of the Martin Forum. There are amp forums too. Talk about variety being the spice of life. And global members can freely and easy post between them as if they were parts of a whole. IMO it's great! So, why not get into it? |

Trouble is nocaster that if you advertise in the wrong places you get the wrong sort of posters. Anyone of us could link on usenet or on Harmony Central, but I doubt I'm alone in avoiding those places for the most part because of the continual trolling and flame wars.
BTW the question was asked on the FDP what had happenned to your "alter ego" njale. I offered to email the link to anyone who wanted it. I only got about six replies. |

Once a day or so, depending on what's going on. I typically try to check out the FIB (mostly BL Gate and USACG Gate) and the FDP (mostly 1985+ Amps, Misc., Pup Tent, Guitar Mods, Strat & Tele pages) to see if there's any interesting new posts.
My page choice tends to reflect my current interests/projects. When building my first couple of "Teles", I spent a lot of time on the various Tele pages, pickup pages and mod./repair pages. Likewise, amp and miscellaneous pages were big in the months preceeding an amp purchase. I especially like the USACG and BL pages on the FIB because they allow me to go DIRECTLY to what I would typically scan for on the FDP anyway. As long as I'm looking for BL information/discussion/opinions/news. I might as well look in the BL Gate instead of scrolling through the Pup Tent. |

I check in about every day when at work. Maybe once, maybe more, who knows. Depends on my interests (which mostly fluctuate between guitars - listening to music - billiards). Currently the snooker WC are on, so billiards maybe getting more than it's share... but summer is around the corner, which kills billiards. So maybe I'll stick around after all.
I am registered with about 4 other Fender related forums too, but haven't really logged on to them lately. As the community is less US-centric here. |

I'm here a lot at the moment. I've abandoned the FDP for various reasons, so I hang here, with trips to usenet and Harmony Central on occasion.
