TIP ONE
Some of you like to tell all, and some don't. Of course, it's up to you.
Those of you from the FDP, will see that the Profile here is quite different. Of course, our host system, ezboard, wasn't setup with the likes of gear lists specifically in mind.
Anyway, to get readable output, you'll need to learn at least one HTML command.
Though you can input text with carriage returns to create paragraphs, left alone they will be output/displayed as one contiguous paragraph.
The solution to this is to use the HTML command "<BR>". <BR> acts the same as the Enter key on your computer. It acts as a carriage return, moving the text to the start of new line. So, in order to create a space between paragraphs, you need to use it twice. <BR><BR>
TIP TWO
For those of you who want to try something a bit more sophisticated than black text organised into neat paragraphs, you'll have to know HTML pretty well, or at least well enough to understand how to cut the section you want from a file generated by a simple HTML generating program, like Netscape Composer.
There is only one limitation I'm aware of, and that is the entire Public Profile appears limited to 5000 input characters (including spaces). So, all the HTML code is included in those 5000 characters, resulting in far less output capability than using the much simpler, but much plainer method, as outlined in Tip One.
Have a look at my Profile to see what you can do. And my profile is at the maximum limit of what can be output, based on what's input. Obviously you can output more if you don't create as many colours, or links, or links that open as new pages, and such, and believe me, it all quickly adds up.
Below is the HTML code entered into the Bio section of my Profile (@ 20020303):
