Since then, the site has had its ups and downs, including the major hit of the ezboard hack, which still scars many threads and archives. Also, due to ezboard bugs and such, our statistics are only approximate, so there's little point being too exact. However, we're approaching totals of 4.5 million page views and 70,000 posts. Despite slumps in general posting, especially over the past 18 months or so, we have continued to average about 1,700 page views per day. More than 2,000 people have signed up as members over the last six years, but several hundred accounts were lost during the ezboard hack, and through ezboard bugs at other times.
Finances are now very tight! Our current balance is such that this section of our costs is not covered for the year ahead.
Though I, like many of you Im sure, have developed new interests and diversions over the years, I am committed to keeping the F.I.B. alive as long as you want it. I have gained much from my participation here, including much generosity and kindness from many of our members. Although I have never met most of you, dont know the real names of all but a few, and cant put a face to the handle, or even know the likes of whether you are black, white, yellow, blue, pink or purple, etc, all such potential barriers of the so-called real world seem to have been demonstrated as very unimportant in this community, which I believe is relatively diverse and more culturally balanced than all other musician communities Ive come across.
I hope the F.I.B. can continue to serve for many more years, and I would like to thank all our members and our moderators, especially all of those that have become regular participants to this board, and those that have made contributions in several other ways too. You are the life-source of the F.I.B.!
