I am being offered what looks like a vintage reissue strat and I am hoping someone on this board would be kind enough to provide their expertise in helping me identify it.The guitar has had the decals and the serial numbers removed from the headstock but otherwise looks pretty clean based on the jpegs I got from the seller. The seller says they had the guitar inspected by a local dealer and were told that it is a made in japan squier vintage reissue from the eighties. The guitar has the white body and pick guard with a rosewood neck combination( which happens to be my favorite on strats). Small headstock with two string trees and "genuine" kluson slotted tuners with the rosewood slab finger board, a single layer pick guard with eight screws and "overwound" vintage sound single coils(or so they were told) and the vintage style tremolo. My question is, were any of the korean or chinese (or indian!) guitars offered in this vintage configuration or were these features only offered on the japanese and american made instruments?I won't be able to remove the neck until I get it so is this worth taking a chance on? I am inclined to purchase the guitar as the seller is offering it to me for a really great price and I love the color combination but it also would be nice to have some idea as to it's provenance. Thanks in advance.
