I *JUST* (about 10 minutes ago) got off the phone with Tommy and have officially placed my first USACG order.
Tommy was great to talk with and walk me through the process. I had a bunch of decisions I wasn't sure about, and he was incredibly helpful with his feedback. Not to mention, he's great fun to talk to - as many have said, the customer service at USACG is amazing.
My recent guitar-oriented experiences have left me feeling good about the world again. Talking to Bill Lawrence on the phone, and then to Tommy, has really made me appreciate that there are many people out there truly just doing what they love to do - no ulterior motives, no amoral sales pitches, no bullshit.
Did I mention that Tommy talked me out of several options that he didn't think would complement my other choices? This saved me about $100 or so.
So... Here's the specs:
S-body:
US-2 Neck:
Did I miss anything? I can't wait to get started on this baby.
I'm going to be shooting for a finish like the Anderson Bora-Bora blue burst. Only decision I really have left is what pickups to go with. I'll probably stay with Lawrence and go with some 280's for the single coils, but I am not sure about the humbucker. I'm thinking maybe a 490 or a 465. (Although the Harmonic Design Z90 sounds cool... even if it is twice the cost of a Lawrence.)
Any thoughts, apart from congratulations and cigars for everybody?
(Thanks again, Tommy. - Alex)
